Romans 12:2 NIV | “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

The world has its pattern, culture, and values. The kingdom of God has its too. Every now and again, we see the church come up with counterpart programs to suit, accommodate, and attract the world.

I felt the Lord grieve that there should be no mixed loyalties. He said the church – His body – is not a place of entertainment, fanfare, and fantasies. So, no need trying to do stuff to appease and attract the world, because the world is not attracted to Him. For them, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.” So, we cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too.

He said to stop trying to conform to the pattern of world, and to quit packaging Him for a world that cares less about Him. Those that fireworks, fantasies, and fanfare enable will come and keep looking for such. But those that the Father enable – the ones who love His essence who are still in the world – will come to Him.
