Move From Race To Grace (1)

John 5:7 | “Sir, the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

Today’s message can be summarized into this beautiful and simple equation.

Life is like a race. And the race is not for the swift. No one can successfully run the race of life, apart from (the grace of) God.

It had to take Jesus to bypass the rules and the protocols of healing, for this man with 38 years of disease to be healed. He was sorely disadvantaged. All his efforts ended in futility. He was at his wits end. He could not help himself. And no body was willing to help him either, until Jesus stepped in on the scene of his life.

I learnt a similar lesson a few weeks back. The Reverend needed to streamline the website, and this brought about some slight modifications in its operation. Everyone was required to re-login, in other to be able to participate, afterwards.

Some of us had challenges getting back in, but were eventually aided by the guidelines he provided. A few others however, still had a hard time trying to join, as a result of either tech unsaviness, sheer carelessness, network problems, phone issues, and so on. It had to take the Reverend himself to help them, when they reached out to him.

Maybe you find yourself in a hopeless or difficult situation, where you’ve tried all you know to alter an undesirable reality, and nothing seems to be working. A situation where neither you, nor others, can, or are willing to help you. A case where things will fall apart if nothing is done. Child of God, you cannot be stranded. It doesn’t matter how long the issue may have lingered. Like that man at pool, you’ve got a helper – The Holy Spirit!

He is the grace and the power of God. He desires for you to reach out to Him. He wants to show you His love and compassion.

Isaiah 30:18 | NLTBut the Lord still waits for you to come to Him so that He can show you His love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for Him to help them.”

He wants to move you from trying and struggling to make things happen for yourself, to trusting and resting in His power to help you. He longs to move you from a life of stress and misery, to a life of ease and bliss.

The power of the Holy Spirit is set to move you from race to grace; from a life of misery to a life of bliss. So, take advantage of the Lord’s love for you and reach out to Him now. Quit trying. Cease from your labours. End your struggles. Pour out your heart to the Holy Spirit, regarding that thorny issue, and join me as we pray our sincere and most powerful prayer: “OH LORD HELP ME!
Bliss be with you!
