Matters Of The HEART: Endurance

This is the second article of five on the HEART. We will look at the second letter— E. I will define it as: Endurance.

In Matthew 13, there is an issue with the soil of the heart that Jesus addresses.

But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has NO ROOT in himself, but ENDURES only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he  STUMBLES.” ~Matthew 13:20-21 NKJV

When you lack endurance you will continually stumble. It causes the soil of your heart to not be able to root the seed, therefore you will not bear fruit.

The truth is, in life you will have many opportunities to quit. It’s impossible to endure these times without patience. In Hebrews 6 it says, “through faith and patience they inherited the promise.”

When the Lord speaks to you it can be very exciting! But that word will be tested; your faith will be tested. This is what produces patience. Patience is actually what you need.

It’s in the time of patiently waiting on God to answer, that you are being strengthened. God is not tormenting you; He is helping you build endurance.

As a good Father, He knows that you need strength and patience so that you can build endurance and not faint in the day of adversity.

Be encouraged! Do not give up! Receive the strength, patience and endurance that you need to finish your race!
