Make Me Your Business!

Luke 12:13-15 NIV | “Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?” Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.””

A lot of the ongoing issues and problems we face is because we constantly get involved in other people’s business.

Not minding your business is a time waster and usually results in unnecessary pain which God might not be quick to deliver you from.

Now, this is not the same as caring, genuinely being there for someone when they need you or generally excelling in your ministry of helps.

But, the pull to be involved in situations that do not warrant your attention, and sometimes even against the will of God.

It might sound a bit harsh but let’s see Jesus reaction to something we know is important, responsible and the right thing to do, unless and until God wants otherwise.

Luke 9:59-60 NIV | “He said to another man, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.””

In other words, Jesus was saying, I am your business. Mind me.

And, He even takes it further.

Luke 9:61-62 NIV | “Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.” Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.””

This message is for the Consecrated One who has allowed civilian affairs get in the way of being God’s soldier – putting God, His Will and His Ways first and foremost.

You are:

1 Peter 2:9 NIV | “…A chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

So, you should not go everywhere or be seen anywhere. It’s unbecoming of your personality in God.

Circumcise your footsteps, whereabouts and sphere of friendly relations.

God is empowering you to apply these principles in your life. He is giving you unparalleled focus so you can serve only His purposes and fulfill your destiny in Him.

He is worth it!
