Psalm 133:1 NIV | “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

One of my favourite TV program is the National Geographic World. I once saw a documentary on endangered species of animals like the Tigers and Leopards. I had often wondered at the cause of their extinction. As I watched, the Holy Spirit showed me why. These animals were solo rangers. They prefer to occupy territories alone and hunt alone. They lacked the ability to live communally. This makes them burn out and age faster, procreate slowly, and easy prey for their predators.

Similarly, the Holy Spirit taught me that some aspects of God’s purpose for us can only be realised by the network of people He has put in our lives. His presence and power is found in the place of unity and love.

May we observe how the Maker does things. He puts the lonely in families, and in creation says, ‘let us’. May we receive the grace to strategically connect, and may selfishness and self-centeredness be destroyed in us.
