2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV| “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
A struggle you will often find is when you’re faced with the weakness of your human existence. Paul found himself faced with it in the above scripture. He asked God to remove something that was a weakness in him. But God refused. Instead He used that moment to give him some insight.
You see, your weakness is actually an invitation for His strength and grace.
In fact, your strength is a hinderance to His grace. Thus it disqualifies you for His strength.
When you depend on your strength or the flesh you give birth to pride in your life. You frustrate the grace of God when you try to do it on your own. If you actually succeed then you will get the glory.
When you depend on His strength you give birth to humility and grace. True humility comes from submission to God. Even if you can do it doesn’t mean that you should. In all things you should submit to the Holy Spirit.
Then when He does it, you can not take the credit, all the credit goes to God and God alone. He will not share His glory with another.
Is there anything that’s too overwhelming for you?
Do you feel inadequate?
Are you feeling unqualified?
If you answered “yes” to any of those questions that is good because now God can step in and help you.
He will give you the ability, send you help and provide for that need. Decide to boast in your weakness so that the power of Christ may rest on you.
