Genesis 15:1 NKJV | “After these things, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
The Holy Spirit strongly prompted me to remind Blissfuls, beginning from my homechurch, of today’s word. He said to remind us that He is our reward. That the reward we get for seeking Him is Himself. His person. His presence. His voice. Blessings may be added to us in the process of seeking and worshipping Him, but settling on them tantamounts to shortchanging ourselves.
God is the ultimate blessing. Our desperation should be for Him alone. Only Him can fill us. Heaven, as glorious as it is said to be, is meaningless without Him. Same with the earth. He is both our rewarder and our reward. But like Abraham, our needs sometimes blind us, and keeps us from valuing Him as our portion, our lot, and our inheritance.
So, Precious Holy Spirit. Renew our minds today. May we not be among those whose reward is in this life. May we be satisfied with seeing your likeness. Be our pearl of greatest treasure. Be our price. Be our reward.
