Hello my beloved Blissful People!

Today is Favour Friday!
It is also the the third day of our July Fast.
And as we conclude, let us use today’s fast to offer true worship to the Lord. The results will be amazing.

Acts 13:1-4 NIV
[1] Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. [2] While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” [3]

The five men we’ve been looking at during this July Fast were doing two things when the Holy Spirit gave them a word that changed the course of human history.

1. They were worshiping the Lord.
2. And they were fasting.

We understand fasting. But, what about worship? What is worship? How do true worshippers worship?

These days, when church folks think of worship, they mean a particular music genre—you know, slow, soulful emotional tunes. And I find that a bit ridiculous.

When you look at men and women that really worshipped God, you’ll understand what I mean.

Look at Abraham, for instance.

Genesis 22:4-5 NIV
[4] On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. [5] He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you. ”

When Abraham said He was going up the mountain to worship, he didn’t mean he was going up there to sing a bunch of songs. No!

Instead, he was going up there to sacrifice the most precious treasure of his entire existence. He was going up there to give up his ultimate blessing—the only thing that truly mattered to him: his one and only beloved son.

And that’s what true worship really is. That’s what it means to worship the Lord.

True worship is to demonstrate your honor, value and love for the Lord by giving up your most precious treasures to Him.

And as we conclude the three day Fast today—which is also our Favour Friday of giving to the Holy Spirit—let us truly worship today like never before with our wealth and our treasures.
