Jesus Is Not Interested In The Blame Game

The disciples of Jesus were looking for someone or something to blame for the blind man’s condition

JOHN 9:1-3 NIV | As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.

Interestingly, we tend to do the same type of thing today—we’re always looking for who to blame, including ourselves.

Jesus, however was not interested in the blame game! He said, “It’s not anybody’s fault. The reason this man was born this way was so that the goodness of God could be displayed in his life.”

Then He touched the man and healed him.

When you have a setback, when life deals you a tough blow, don’t get bitter. And don’t wallow in self-pity, in blaming yourself or others. Recognize that God is merely setting you up to show His favor and goodness through you.

God has something great in store for you! So refuse to live defeated and depressed. This difficulty is simply another opportunity for God to show His goodness through you.
