Jesus Christ Has Given You A Sinless Past

Jesus’ assignment from the Father altered the course of human history forever. His death, resurrection and ascension brought to an end the former realities available to mankind; and ushered in new creation realities for those who believe in Him as the Son of God and are baptized into His name.

The first reality of the new creation that I consider very cardinal to metamorphosis and personal transformation is ‘justification’.

“For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the first born among many brothers. And those He predestined He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified He also glorified.”
~Romans 8 : 29-30

Justification simply means that Jesus Christ has given you a clean past. Through his atoning work at Calvary, Jesus Christ gave those who believe in Him a flawless past. If you are in Christ, you have been given a sinless past. Hallelujah!

Now justification doesn’t mean that your sins have been justified. Please don’t confuse this point.  Sin is still sin before God. God’s eyes are still too pure that He cannot behold iniquity. God will never justify sin; He does not violate His nature. However it is us that became justified. God did not justify our deeds, he justified our persons.

Now, how did God accomplish this awesome liberating deed?

God simply took the righteousness of Jesus and gave us. We have became justified in His sight; thanks to Jesus’ death for us on the Cross. Jesus Christ lived a flawless life. He kept the laws of God without breaking a single one; He was a perfect man. Now God replaced our sinful past with the righteousness of Jesus to give us a flawless past.

At this point, I would like you to take out time and reflect on this new creation reality. As one who is in Christ, are you walking in this truth?

The old has gone and the new has come.

Praise God!
