After explaining the parable of the Sower and showing us reasons why the word of God doesn’t produce in some people’s lives, Jesus then give us another reason for unfruitfulness.

Luke 8:16 | “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.”

God’s word to you is your lamp and your light. (Psalm 119:105) Putting the lamp on a stand happens when you let the word of God decide your thoughts, actions and expectations. Hiding the lamp under the bed happens when you ignore the instructions of God.
