Increase Your Fruitfulness (3): Love God, Not Pleasure

Luke 8:14 | “The seed that fell among thorns stand for those who hear, but as they go on their way, they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.”

Life’s pleasures constitute another barrier to fruitfulness. God wants all of your affection. When you live for Him, instead of pleasure, you enjoy more of the help of the Holy Spirit.

I will share my personal experience with you. There was a time I wasn’t seeing much of God’s word come to pass in my life. When I compare that time and now that I see more fruits of God’s word in my life, one thing that stands out to me is that I am more yielded to the Holy Spirit. I am more inclined to doing God’s will than pursuing my pleasures.

This is not surprising because when a man’s ways pleases the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. (Proverbs 16:7) Sometimes, all you need to do is to be focused on pleasing the Lord, not yourself. That alone allows the word of God to flourish until it is fully manifested in your life. Receive grace today to love the Lord, not pleasure.
