Luke 8:14 | “The seed that fell among thorns stand for those who hear, but as they go on their way, they are choked by life’s worries, riches … “
Another thing that is toxic to the word of God is life’s riches. It sounds like a paradox, right? Because money is a tool for solving life’s problems. Well, money has two effects: Firstly, it can make you transfer your dependence on God to it. Instead of trusting God and living one day at a time, you now make plans according to what is in your bank account.
Secondly, it can make you switch your affection from God to it. Money has its power and is therefore seductive. Love for money gives birth to practices that will definitely tune God off and not allow His word to thrive in your life. Thus, Jesus makes His famous statement: You cannot serve both God and mammon.(Matthew 6:24).
Receive grace to obey Paul’s advice in 1Corinthians 7:31 “Those in frequent contact with the things of the world should make good use of them without becoming attached to them, for this world and all it contains will pass away.” Bliss be with you.
