Psalm 139:16 | “Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before anyone of them came to be.”
If you are a Blissful, and therefore a Consecrated one, you can be rest assured that God had finished the design plan of your life before ever you stepped your foot on this planet.
However, a lot of us are born not knowing this plan. If you were fortunate to have loved ones in tune with God’s will for your life while growing up, they helped stir you in the right direction. But if you were not so lucky, your caregivers probably made it more difficult for you to go after God’s plans for your destiny.
Of course, the society at large isn’t any more helpful. Different voices echo this particular approach to life in various forms: Choose your dream life; work hard at it long enough; and you will be all you want to be. Sounds very cute, until you get closer to God and find out He has a preexisting plan for your life. And that His plan has nothing to do with the cute plans you made for yourself.
At this point, depending on your degree of yieldedness to the Holy Spirit, the tussle starts: His will or yours? His way and preferences or yours?
You increase your bliss when you abandon your will for His. To the degree you surrender to His will, to that degree you increase your bliss.
Jesus knew this while on earth , so he advises you in the Lord’s prayer:
Matthew 6:9 | “This then is how you should pray:Our Father in heaven … your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
God’s will may not make sense to you. His thoughts are higher than yours, so that’s no surprise. Also, He doesn’t let you know all His plans for you at once, but wants you to trust Him as He leads you step by step. And I know this second part is scary for those of us who crave certainty.
Nevertheless, one thing is sure, His will for you is far better than any you or the world around you can come up with. Why? Because God loves you deeply, more than anyone else can. Even more than you love yourself. And He has this to say to you today:
Jeremiah 29:11 | “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'”
In God’s perfect will, you have His full support. In His will, you enjoy increased bliss. Anything less than His perfect will for you is filled with experiences that in hindsight, you will rather not have.
Receive grace today to continually say “Yes, Lord” and increase your bliss.
