When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave on the third day, He ushered in new realities for those that will come to believe in His name.
The bible explains that:
“Yet to all who received Him, to all who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. Children born not of natural descent nor of human decision, or a husband’s will, but born of God”.
~John 1 :12-13
That is to say that Jesus changes your origin and parentage; He changes where you come from in order to give you a new destiny.
So when I think of myself today, I don’t think of myself as being born by my biological parents. As a matter of fact, God’s word declares that we’ve become children, not born of natural descent or human decision or a husband’s will; rather we are now born of God. It’s a new reality.
So next time folks ask you where you come from, you’re not going to tell them that you came from your village, this state or that state; instead you’re going to answer from a place of awareness in your spirit of who you are in Christ. You’re going to let them know that you come from God because you are born of God. That’s your origin; once you are in Christ.
In addition, your origin matters because it decides your features and capabilities; as a matter of fact, it decides a lot about you.
I get so excited when I wake up in the morning and I remember that I am from the Father. It’s an awareness that is so huge. It is a consciousness that is so empowering. Actually, living in this understanding shatters all my previous limitations. It takes all the fear and tension off me. And I have a passion to spread this message around the world and let every believer know that they don’t have to labour under the old limitations of the law. Things are different now:
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come.”
~2 Corinthians 5:17
