How To Honor God With Your Personal Altar

“Her priests do violence to my law and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common; they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean; and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.” ~Ezekiel 22:26

To me your personal altar is your heart. God is interested in the condition of your altar/heart. But what ever is in your heart will be displayed in your actions. (Proverbs 23:7)

It’s important to honor God in your heart. In doing so, your personal altar is pure before God. When you don’t honor the things of God, your heart will not be a pure altar, it becomes unclean.

When the personal altar of your heart is pure you will:

1.) Honor God. (His presence and His word.)

2.) Honor God with your life. (time, money, resources, affection)

3.) Honor the people of God. (Especially those in authority in your life and in your household of faith)

4.) Honor the work of the Lord. (Put His things first and give yourself fully to them.)

We should never treat God and the things of God as common. That is dishonorable and impure.

That includes you too. To be holy as He is Holy means that you are set apart.(1 Peter 1:15,16) You are not common. You belong to Him. You are to come out from among the world.

Today ask Holy Spirit to help you to give yourself fully to the Lord. To purify the personal altar of your heart and help you to honor God in everything.
