Grow In Your Knowledge Of God

2 Peter 1:3 NIV | “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”

Think about the differences in phones. A mobile phone basically makes calls, and sends text messages. A feature phone does a little more than that. Both phones however, lack the advanced functionality of a smart phone, like streaming or watching a live video. And even the smart phones still need constant upgrade to function maximally and optimally.

There are certain things that cannot happen in our lives until the knowledge of God that we have grows.

One of such life-transforming revelation that can take you to your next level in God, which I learnt, is the truth that God is our source. We originate from Him. Everything we’ll ever need is in Him.

An orange tree, with all of its unseen parts, originates from the orange seed. Human life as we know it, originates from the sperm and an egg. Similarly, you came out from God. He is your source.

Job 33:4 NIV | “The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”

With God as your source, your success, health, spirituality, and everything else, is within Him, and programmed to come out of Him. In Him all things consist. Just like no one teaches the orange tree how to bud, nor the human body how to function, similarly, no one will teach you how to succeed, prosper, or be healthy, if you truly and deeply connect to your source – the Holy Spirit.

1 John 2:27 NLT | “But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true–it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Christ.”

Our source is within us, but as we grow, the world alienates us from Him. It conditions us to take our cues from outside of us. For instance, you’re told stuff like: to have money, attend a wealth creation seminar, where the little you have is even being ripped off of you, in the form of registration; for health, ensure proper dieting; for business or ministry growth, embark on awareness and networking; to marry, move around ‘to see and be-seen’, and the list goes on. We are made to seek our own ways, and rely on the arm of flesh that fails. Our source is inexhaustible and free. If we can learn to tune inwards, and rely on the Holy Spirit, who is the custodian of all our unseen realities, and follow His design for us, His inspiration will guide us into the truth and life; into our desired reality.

Job 32:8 KJV | “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”

It’s time you stopped listening outside and start listening inwards so you can pick signals from your source. He seeks to be expressed through us, but own ways hinder Him. Whenever we connect to our natural source, we enter into an unending stream of abundance.

By the use of solar panels, for instance, we harness uninterrupted supply of electricity from the sun. Through the drilling of deep wells and boreholes, we guarantee a continuous supply of water. Likewise, as we connect to our source, and let Him flow through us, amazing things happen in our lives. Let us therefore pray.

Holy Sprit, take me by the hand and lead me back to my source from where I came from. Gather my fragmented soul. Lead me back to the fountain of my existence!
