God Is Lifting Your Focus To The Heavens

God was saying one thing, he was saying another

Genesis 15:1-3 NIV
[1] After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward. ” [2] But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus? ” [3] And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”

Look at Abraham: God was saying one thing, He was saying another.

God spoke directly to Abraham in a vision, but He was so consumed by his problem that God’s Word became just like pouring water on stone.

If you become too focused on your problems and allow them to consume you, God will be saying one thing and you will be saying another.

If you’re not careful, you will let that problem turn your heart to stone to the point that you can no longer respond to the word of God.

But our God is always very merciful and long suffering with us. He didn’t condemn Abraham. Instead, He helped him.

A change of surroundings

What are you looking at?
What are you listening to?
What are you surrounded by?
Because it all matters.

First He took him outside.

Genesis 15:4-6 NIV
[4] Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir. ” [5] He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” [6] Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

In other words, He changed his surroundings; his environment.

You may need a change of environment.
You may need to get out of that house for a while.
Go outside.
Take a walk.
Get out of that depressing and discouraging environment.
Get away from that phone.
Log out of social media.
Go offline.

In any case, God didn’t wait for Abraham.
He took him outside.
God will take you outside!

A change of focus

Next God told Abraham to look up.
That is, He changed his focus; what he was looking at; what he was listening to; what his mind was surrounded by.

Right now I see the Lord is changing your focus.
The things you see today are temporary; they are momentary; they are subject to change.

In fact, most of what you see today are illusions.
They are not real.
False evidence appearing real.
That’s all it is.

But when you keep your eyes on them, they become powerful enough to discourage, depress and weaken you.

Because, focus is fuel.
Focus is food.
Whatever you focus on, you fuel.
Whatever you focus on, you feed.

But when you withdraw your focus, you withdraw power from the appearances.
And that is what the Holy Spirit will help you to do this season.

God is lifting your focus up to the heavens.
You will see the stars.
You will count the stars.

Then faith will rise up within you.
Miracles will erupt all around you.
And your life will be flooded with amazing testimonies.
