God Is In Control

Mark 4:26-27 | NIV
“This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.

Pause and read that scripture again, slowly.

Life has a rhythm. And God can be experienced in the ordinariness of life’s rhythm – day and night, sleep and wake, sprout and grow.

The seed is the word of God. (Luke 8:11) In life, there are things you have control over; things like ‘the scattering of your seeds.’ And others you don’t have control over; things like ‘the growth of your seeds.’

That you don’t understand, nor see how things will work out, does not mean that nothing is happening. God is the One that works in you.

A viable seed planted in a viable soil is expected to sprout and grow. No need stressing to go check how it will come about or to hasten it. It only needs to undergo a process.

God can accomplish His purposes in your life, independent of your efforts – ‘whether you sleep’, or ‘whether you get up’. Like we saw the other day, He does not need our help to make things happen. He can bring His word to come to pass without consulting you.

So, no need to manipulate things. No need to come under undue pressure, especially over those issues in our lives that are beyond our understanding and control.

Are you going through a process in your life right now? Such that is beyond your knowledge and your power? God is saying to you: Trust My pattern of process. Trust My timing. Trust My word. Do not be hasty and miss the way.

God is in control of every and any situation, absolutely. Let Him be your cloud by day and fire by night. Let Him lead you where you cannot lead yourself. Let Him lead you right into His will.

Holy Spirit, help us to trust You with all of our hearts and not lean on our own understanding. Help us to relinquish absolute control to You, especially over things we have no understanding and control over. In Jesus name!
