God is a master of gratitude. We are serving a very grateful God. He says:
“To the faithful I show myself faithful.”
~Psalm 18:5
God is faithful. And when you offer up a sacrifice that touches the heart of God, something happens instantly. When men of old sacrificed to God, fire came down from heaven. Today it might not be a visible fire, but every time you touch the heart of God through giving, you experience heaven. You experience phenomenal breakthroughs. You experience extraordinary advancements. You experience speed. So if you are making sacrifices for God and He is not responding, you better check what you’re doing.
Remember, Simon of Cyrene laboriously carried the cross of Jesus up a mountain. His help, however, was not acknowledged in any form by Jesus. He may even have ended up irritating Jesus. Are you getting what I’m talking about? Some things you’re doing just may irritate God because it’s not coming from the heart. So as Apostle Paul says:
“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
~ 2 Corinthians 9:7
Nobody should compel you to give to God!
No matter what it is you’re giving to God, be it service to God or your time, know that you don’t have to do it. You don’t have to go to church; you don’t have to do anything for God. Actually God says,
“For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills…If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.”
~ Psalm 50:10, 12
The simple reason God asks us to make sacrifices to Him is to enable us demonstrate our value for him; that’s all. He doesn’t need a dime from you as you can see in the above passage of the bible.
So give to demonstrate your love for Him and not out of compulsion.
