God Himself Will Help You

Always remember the story of the young man, the SUV, and the pretty lady. That story captures the heart of God for this month. Click here to refresh your mind on the story.

The young man had no car, no experience in driving, and no money.
Yet he made the journey and reached his destination.
That is, he had neither the ability nor resources to get to where He needed to be.
Yet he got there.
Because someone helped him.

A few days ago, during our family devotion, we reflected on Jesus’s miraculous feeding of the multitude.

Matthew 14:17-21 NIV
[17] “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. [18] “Bring them here to me,” he said. [19] And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. [20] They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. [21] The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

The need for God’s help

In verse 17, we see a clear picture of the need for God’s help: What they had at hand, only five loaves and two fish, was no match for the over five thousand mouths that needed to be fed.

What you have at hand—that is, if you have anything at all— may be no match for the pressing needs of your life.

Maybe, your salary is no match for your monthly bills.
Your cashflow is no match for the project.
Your educational qualifications are no match for the job available.
And so on.

Yet, at the end of the day, they all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

How in the world did that happen?

God helped them.

This will be your testimony this month.

God will help you.
