1 Pet 4:1 NLT | “So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer too.”
Verse 2 continues. “For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.”
Sin is attachment to whatever the flesh desires. Suffering breaks that attachment. Just like fasting breaks our attachment to food. Recall the story of Jesus walking on water for instance. He walked on water because the boat was not available at the moment. Abraham experienced supernatural provision in his suffering for God’s will, as he prepared to sacrifice Isaac.
Suffering or denial breaks attachment to ‘boats’ – to common solutions – and launches us into supernatural and uncommon solutions. Are you going through stuff because you’ve chosen to do God’s will? Get set for uncommon solutions! Receive abundant grace from the Holy Spirit to gracefully go through it. Bliss be with you. 💕
