From Places Of Worship, To Persons Of Worship

“Sir,” the woman said, “you must be a prophet. So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?” ~John 4:19-20 NLT

Once upon a time, thousands of years ago, people used to go to places in order to seek God.

At these places there were gatekeepers known as priests. They  stood between God and the people. They told God what the people wanted. And then told the people what God wanted.

One day, however, everything changed!

Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. ~ John 4:21 NLT

God Himself became one of the people and came down among them. He made an arrangement to remove the go-betweens so He could relate directly with the people. He put His Spirit in the people and the people became places of worship.

But the time is coming-indeed it’s here now-when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” ~John 4:23-24 NLT

And that is why today, we no longer have places of worship. We now have people of worship.

Unfortunately, though, most of the people still go to places. And this is sad. So sad.

Yet, all hope is not lost!
Something is about to happen.
In you.
Will you let it?
