The Holy Spirit is the Living Water; and amazing things happen when He flows, or is active in your life. (John 7:39)
BIBLE STUDY | Isaiah 32:13,15 | “For your land will be overgrown with thorns and briers … till the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest.
In nature, it’s interesting to find that what differentiates a desert from a dense forest is the amount of water that falls on it.
If your life appears to be as barren as a desert, it is transformed into a fertile field as the Holy Spirit — God’s Living Water — pours on it.
However, the lack of water is not the only problem with the desert. Most deserts have thorns growing in them.
And what do these thorns represent?
BIBLE STUDY | Luke 8:7,14| “Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants.
The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.”
Jesus tells us that these thorns are life’s worries; and interestingly, life’s riches and pleasures too. When the Holy Spirit is not actively leading and working with you, your life is filled with the decay and experiences of the world around you.
PRAYER | May you be filled and led by the Holy Spirit! And may your life explode with the fruitfulness, colour and abundance that comes with the Living Water!
