1 Peter 1:24-25 NIV
For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.
According to one of my favorite songs, earthly things will leave you dry; only God will satisfy.
Jesus Christ describes the Holy Spirit as Living Waters that will flow out of our innermost being. A River that will quench our thirsty souls forever.
Have you been drinking of this Eternal and Living Waters? Are you quenching you’re soul’s thirst in His refreshing flow?
The River is flowing and will never run dry.
Like a flint, let our hearts be set on things above, not on earthly things. Let us be spiritually minded, not carnally minded. Let us continue to focus on the eternal; on those things that would never perish.
One day, we will see Him Who is invisible; the Desire of all ages. Then we will sing the song of the angels and elders of heaven. Then we will bow before Him in undefiled awe and wonder.
Till then, may our love for Him never wax cold. May our fire continue to burn. May our hearts continue to hunger and thirst for Him. And may we follow hard after Him with relentless love. In Jesus name.
