A few days ago, I received a copy of the book ‘19 Keys to Uncommon Solutions’. It’s my most recent book and I really relished the feel of it in my hands. Any author can understand the thrill of holding your own book in your hands. It’s always a beautiful and inspiring experience. Yet, the really interesting thing is that the Holy Spirit urged me to read the book all over again! So, I spent an entire day reading it.
Someone had actually told me a few days earlier that “This book is anointed. I can feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit just by holding it.” I thought she was being rather dramatic; but that was till I went through the book all over again – this time as a reader, not as the author. Then I understood what she was saying. I was shocked by what I contacted from this book. It is no ordinary book; it is loaded with the wisdom, favor, and presence of the Lord.
I was absolutely stunned by what I ‘discovered.’ As a matter of fact, I was so moved by what I read that my sermon yesterday was entirely drawn out of one chapter of the book!
The book unveils the mystery of ‘favor in the desert.’ This comes out of an ancient prophecy by Jeremiah:
"This is what the LORD says: "The people who survive the sword will find favor in the desert; I will come to give rest to Israel". (Jeremiah 31:2).
This mystery of favor in the desert is only accessible to those who outlast the storms of life.
Now, think about this for a while:If you can only outlast the storms of your life, you will gain access to a dimension and measure of favor that is only available to a few.
The book goes on to show that adversities contain tremendous opportunities, favors, and distinction. I like that a lot, because it’s been my experience so far. In fact, I wrote this book late last year, after our ministry encountered a massive wave of attacks from the devil. It was so vicious and wicked that it threatened to drown us all; but, as this book clearly highlights in page 33, “the attacks of your enemies are triggers for the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in your life!’” We ‘survived the sword’ and so found ‘favor in the desert.’
Champions rejoice in the storm because it separates them from the pack and lifts them to heights only few ever attain.
My spiritual hunger was sharpened by this books unwavering emphasis that “To participate in this distinction you must have very deep spiritual roots and strong faith in God.” When your faith in God is strong, and your roots in Him are deep, you access what Jeremiah calls favor in the desert – a rare and hidden kind of favor. This kind of favor produces divine ease – success without stress. In Psalm 127,David calls it ‘sleep’.
"Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat- for he grants sleep to those he loves." (Psalms 127:1-2).
I absolutely recommend this book as an essential companion in your spiritual journey. It will show you how to deepen your roots, strengthen your faith, and access mysterious solutions to the challenges of your life.
