Fake Appearances

“When the king heard the woman’s words, he tore his robes. As he went along the wall, the people looked, and they saw that, under his robes, he had sackcloth on his body.”

~2 Kings 6:30 NIV

Kingly robes outwardly. Sackcloth inwardly.
Makes me think of a modern word: Packaging—A very nice word for fake appearances.

People cover up.
No one wants to be seen in a bad light.
Keep this in mind when you feel left behind; so you don’t get desperate.

All that glitters is not gold.
You‘re probably in better shape than those others.

So be content and grateful.
