Psalms‬ ‭36:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬| “They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.”

I believe the human soul is a like a vacuum. It’s just sucking in everything around it trying to be fulfilled. Many times you turn to the things of the world to fill the void. 

‭‭The problem is the things of this world will only leave you hungry and thirsty. They can never fulfill you. It’s a moment of happiness filling you up just long enough to appease the hunger inside you. But in no time you are left seeking again. 

Honestly, the things in this world can only pacify you. Like a pacifier that you put into a baby’s a mouth to soothe it. But when that baby is really hungry the pacifier will no longer work. It begins to cry out in need of real nourishment so it can be truly satisfied. 

Many things in this life are just a pacifier. They can only keep you pacified for a moment. But they never fully satisfy you. 

I’m fully convinced the Lord is the only One who can truly satisfy the hunger in the human soul. He desires that we find pleasure and fulfillment in Him. 

Are you tired? Are you weary? Are you frustrated? If you answered yes to any of these then I’ll ask you another. What well have you been drinking from? 

John 4:13,14 NIV| “Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Today, come to Him and ask Him for His water. Let Him fill every place in you with Himself. Come and drink from His river of delights and start enjoying the abundance of His house. In Jesus Name.
