Don’t Back Down from Challenges

“I pray that out of his glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being…”
~ Ephesians 3:16

When you are faithful in prayer, the God within you supplies tremendous strength to you. He gives you the inner confidence, courage, and wisdom, which then enable you to dismantle tough challenges.

You are not supposed to flee from difficulties. As a matter of fact, climbing a mountain is tougher than descending a hill. So, when you observe some folks sliding into convenience and complacency, just know that they are going downhill.

As for you, pray so that you will receive the strength to go up, to go forward. You’re not supposed to back down from challenges. Don’t back off because you’ve jammed the rock. The strength to melt the rock that you just jammed comes from the place of prayer. When you pray, you receive peace, and you don’t back down; you are no longer scared. In addition, there comes strength within you. Strength rises up from somewhere deep inside of you, and enables you to take the next step forward and upward.

This strength empowers you to make tough decisions; because you’ll need to make tough decisions to make progress and go forward. Progress is not for the faint-hearted. You’ll need to take some tough stands in your family, ministry, business, and relationships. If you are not strong, you will not be able to achieve this.

In your family, for instance, you might need to put your feet down on some issues. I found that out as a father of a home; for my family to be strong, I would have to insist on some things. Regrettably, one of the reasons that our society is filled with many weak families is that these families have weak fathers. These families have fathers who cave in to their wives, and whims of their children. They have fathers who cave in to the challenges of life; who don’t stand up to their responsibility as the head of the home.

Make up your mind today not to back down from challenges, and to take tough decisions when necessary.

Heavenly Father, I choose today to draw strength from you in a place of prayer, and to boldly confront the challenges that I have, in Jesus’ name.
