Romans 9:19 GNT | “But one of you will say to me, “If this is so, how can God find fault with anyone? Who can resist God’s will?”
I learnt that no one can resist the will of God. No one chosen by God can resist Him. The will of God always happens. It happens either willfully or forcefully. By forcefully, you either get ‘knocked off, blinded and arrested by the Lord Himself’ like Paul; or get ‘swallowed by the whales of life’ like Jonah; or ‘loose your first born son’ like Pharaoh; or get ‘widowed after seven years of marriage till your eighty-fourth year’ like Prophetess Anna. In these cases, God enforced His will by His power (Psalm 110:3).
Unlike on earth, there’s no resistance to the will of God in heaven. This is the reason Jesus taught us to pray that God’s will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. So, don’t attempt to resist God’s will. The outcome is not always pleasant. Don’t force His hand against you. Receive the grace to willfully and cheerfully surrender to Him, because if He has chosen you, He won’t relent till He has all of you.
