Don’t Abandon the Dream

Your relationship with God is a journey.

At the start of your walk with God, your enthusiasm is usually at its peak, because the journey is started with a promise. God invites you, and uses His word to set before you a vision of glory and honour.

“Listen to what the parable of the sower means: …The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.” But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
~Matthew 13: 20-21

The promise of God stirs hope; it inspires joy when it comes at the start of the journey. Many begin the journey with great excitement. But then, along the way, people begin to drop off, until only very few make it. The reason is that as soon as they encounter difficulties along the way, they back off and abandon the project. They abandon their God-given dream; and then, they slide back into mediocrity and normalcy. Success eludes them because they don’t persist.

I pray today that will not be your case in the name of Jesus. I pray that by the grace of God, you will persist through the temporary seasons of trials and adversities, and reach your glory land. You will surmount the challenges that cause others to give up and achieve success,  in the mighty name of Jesus.

Amen.

Memory Verse:

Matthew 13: 18-21
“Listen to what the parable of the sower means …The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.” But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I ask for the grace to persist through the temporary seasons of trials and adversities and reach my glory land. May my joy continue to overflow, and my enthusiasm not flag, in the mighty name of Jesus.
Amen
