Does God Have A Talent?

It is important that we preach the Gospel around the world so that people can hear and know the amazing realities brought into human existence by what Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. As they believe in Jesus Christ and are baptized into His name, they can be partakers of this new reality. Because these realities are for those who are in Christ.

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone; the new has come.”
~2 Corinthians 5:17

One of the new things that Jesus brought in is a divine nature. He changed your nature so that today you can do the things that God can do.

This change of nature introduced by Jesus affects our lives in remarkable ways. Let’s look at the issue of talent for an example.

I teach a lot on talent and I have a friend who also writes on talent and potentials. In the course of teaching these new creation realities on a particular occasion, she asked me, “Pastor Favour with what you’re saying, what about talent?” Because I had told her that the new creation, the new self is not the realm of talents.

Talent is a reality of the old self. It’s something that happens with the old self; but it’s not a reality in the new self.

To help you understand this let me ask you this question: “What is God’s talent?” Someone once gave me a very wonderful answer to this question. The person said, “You can’t use the word ‘talent’ with respect to God.” The concept of talent is not compatible with the concept of God because He is Omnipotent.”

God is infinitely Omnipotent. He can do all things; so the concept of talent is not compatible with the concept of divinity. And you have been given His divine nature in Christ.

Praise God.
