Do You Love Righteousness?

If you want to be a part of God’s kingdom, you must love righteousness. If you want to reign with God, you must pursue righteousness.

“But about the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.’”
Hebrews 1: 8-9

The above scripture is talking about Jesus – God’s son. Jesus loved righteousness and hated wickedness, therefore God set Him above His companions by anointing Him with the oil of joy.

I have found out that people who live in sin are miserable. You can’t be a Christian, and be happy in sin. It’s just not possible, because your conscience will not allow you to rest. If as a Christian, you live a life steeped in sin, you will never enjoy the peace of God.

“‘There is no peace,’ says my God, ‘for the wicked.’”
~Isaiah 57: 21

You can never be living in sin as a Christian, and have peace unless you backslide. And even if you backslide, because you are still a Christian that has backslidden, you will never be happy. The oil of joy flows on the person who loves righteousness.

Also, because Jesus loves righteousness, God exalted him. Righteousness uplifts you.

To have a successful walk with God, and reign with Him, you must love righteousness. May you continually love and pursue righteousness.
Amen.

Memory Verse:
Hebrews 1: 8-9
“But about the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.’”

Prayer:
Father, give me hunger and thirst for righteousness. May I pursue it everyday of my life , in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
