Quick check: Are you walking in God’s ways, or in the ways of the world?

As I wrote in God’s Ways Are Superior, God’s ways are different, as well as superior to the world’s.

Now, listen: the ways of the world are actually the ways of the devil! Anytime you start walking in the ways of the world, you’re walking in the territory of the devil. Things might be going well for a while, but you’re walking on very dangerous and slippery grounds. Things can turn ugly pretty fast, because you’re walking in a place the devil understands very well. There he can stop you! He can sabotage you! He can manipulate you! The devil can maneuver things to defeat you adopt his ways.

So, the ways of the world is not a path for you to walk in. And I believe that if you are to disconnect from the ways of the world you should know what it looks like.

The way of the world is a set of principles: Essentially, it is to set a goal out of your personal greed and ambition. Then scheme, manipulate, lie, cheat, deceive, exploit to get it. The unfortunate fact is that it ‘works’. Yes, as much as I hate to admit it, when you walk in greed, lying, cheating, and deception – like the world – you can achieve what this world regards as success. As a child of God, however, you are merely selling your birthright for a piece of cake.

My point in this post is simply to counsel you to be careful as you walk in this world not to adopt her ways.
