Ask God daily to help you to make a positive impact on everyone you come in contact with. The grace for impact should be a regular feature of your daily prayer list. Ask God to make you a blessing, beginning from your immediate environment – your family members – and then other folks, as you step out of the house.
“I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”
~Genesis 12: 2
You are not just blessed; you are blessed to be a blessing. So ask God to make you a blessing every single day of your life.
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
~Matthew 5:13 -16
Focus on being relevant to others around you. You can touch someone with your life. You can bless someone with material gifts, with your words. There are so many ways to be a blessing. Let your light shine.
But without God in your heart each day, without God dominating your consciousness from a place of prayer, you will go through life as a taker. A lot of people go through life as takers; by this I mean the mindset of expecting people to help you; in every situation, their focus is on what others can do for them.
But when you come out from a place of prayer where you’ve asked God to make you a blessing, you will be more inclined to be a blessing to others. Your preference will be to give to other people. You find yourself thinking about opportunities to help others and be a blessing to them.
