Daily: Pray for Passion

As God’s child, you must seek to cultivate a strong and powerful daily morning devotion. To have a healthy walk with God and not be out of sync with Him, you must take your daily devotions very seriously.

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.”
~ Mark 1:35

Early morning devotion was Jesus Christ’s daily habit. When Jesus went to the Father that morning, I believe He was there to draw strength and grace for that day. He faced challenges on a daily basis. There were demons to cast out, the Pharisees to handle with wisdom, His disciples to teach, and all the other things that He had to deal with each day. Jesus knew He needed to draw strength from the Father.

So your early morning devotion is a time that you draw strength and grace from God. There are a lot of things that you can pray for each morning. I will give you guidelines. Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, so I will teach you what to pray for.

“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
~Luke 11:1

In your morning devotions, submit to God the Father, and Jesus Christ; then acknowledge the person of the Holy Spirit. After you’ve done these, you need to ask the Holy Spirit to help you to always love God with all your heart. The bible tells us that in the last days, the love of many people will wax cold.

“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.”
~Matthew 24: 12-13

A lot of Christian folks’ passion for God has gone cold. Many are just pretending in church. A lot of people that go to church go for other reasons, not out of passion for God. One way toknow that your passion for God has waxed cold is that you now need follow-up in the things of God; you’re no longer internally driven.

The Psalmist wrote:

“I was glad when they said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord.”
~Psalm 122:1(KJV)

Anytime you need encouragement to go to the house of God, your love has waxed cold. Every time you’re dragging your feet and struggling in the things of God, your passion for God has gone cold. So you should always be on your knees each day and ask the Holy Spirit  to help you love God with all your heart; that your passion for God will be stronger than ever. Say to the Holy Spirit, “Lord, let my love for you today be stronger than it was yesterday. Let the fire in my heart for you be stronger today than it was yesterday.”

Pray this kind of prayer every day of your life.  And you will notice that you will continue to walk in passion, you continue to walk in love for God with all your heart.
Amen.
