Jeremiah 31:3 | “The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying : ” I have loved you with an everlasting love. With unfailing love, I have drawn you to myself. “
Dear Blissful,
God loves you with the deepest kind of love. He has chosen you out of many to be conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus. He prefers you.
There are at least two kinds of people on the earth: the godly and the worldly; the holy and the unholy. The holy are God’s chosen ones, whom He prefers, and whom He draws to Himself with unfailing love.
Exodus 34:14 | Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
God’s love for you is jealous in nature. He prefers you, and His desire is that you prefer Him too. He longs for you to put Him first in all things and at all times, through the help of His Holy Spirit.
A married man can easily be provoked to jealousy, if his wife’s affections is with someone else. The same man will not bother if another, who is not his wife, is involved. It is the same with God. You are married to Him. You are not free to do as you please like the ungodly.
Recently, someone with a huge social media following stated on social media that she didn’t need to pray or seek God’s will while making the choice of a spouse. She said she found a person good enough to be her husband, chose him and then told God about her decision. And many of her followers applauded her. In that particular post, she was attacking the idea of seeking God’s will before making the choice of a marriage partner.
I laughed when I read her post and this thought ran through my mind: “Some of us have God so intimately involved in our life that He decides what we wear, how much more the very important decision of who to marry.” And suddenly a light bulb went off in my head. It dawned on me that it was okay for her and folks like her to make choices irrespective of God’s wishes, because they are not among the chosen.
2 Corinthians 6:17 | “Therefore, come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you.”
Not every opportunity is for you. Not every job is for you. Not everyone should be in your life. Not every open door is for you. Not every connection should be taken advantage of.
You are different. You are sacred. You are chosen. Therefore, come out from among them and be separate!
