Choose To Do The Will Of God

There are some very important decisions ahead of you. So, I believe it’s necessary for me to provide you with some godly and prophetic counsel earlier in the year, so that by the grace of God, you will have a glorious year in your walk with God.

I’ll keep it simple and straightforward.

Proverbs 14:6
There is a way that seems right to a man,

But its end is the way of death.

The verse I just wrote down warns you to not make choices based on what seems good to you. This applies especially to people of the Holy Spirit. That it seems right to you doesn’t mean it’s the right path.

In the year ahead of you, as much as you can, avoid choosing a course of action just because:

  • It is pleasurable.
  • It makes you feel safe.
  • It would be beneficial to you.
  • It would make you popular.
  • It would make other people like and accept you.
  • It will get you more money.
  • It will make you more successful.

That is how the people of this world live.
That is their pattern; their style; their paradigm.
Their reward is in this life.
Their allegiance is to themselves and their pleasures.
Our Lord is not their Lord.

Instead, make your choices based on one thing, and one thing alone:

What the Holy Spirit wants you to do.

It may not be pleasurable to you.
It may not make you feel safe.
It may not be beneficial to you.
It may not make you popular.
It may not make other people like and accept you.
It may not get you more money.
It may not make you more successful.

But if it is clearly what the Holy Spirit wants you to do, then that’s the God thing for you. That’s the right thing for you. And that’s exactly what you should do.

So, how do you know that this is what the Holy Spirit wants me to do?

John 7:17 (NIV)
Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

If you sincerely choose to do the will of God, your Heavenly Father will not allow sin and lucifer deceive you. He will guide you by His Spirit in the way He has chosen for you. You will know exactly what to do. You won’t miss it.

And, where He guides, He will provide.
