Choose To Deny Your Flesh

Mark 1:37‭ NIV | “And when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else.”

Jesus’s fame and renown was all over the place. Everyone was looking for Him. In today’s ministry circle, it’d be perceived as open doors, ministry opportunities, and divine connections. But He chose to deny the flesh. He shunned everyone and everything by the leading of the Father and rather went the opposite direction. And we are called to look unto Him.

Do you have this need to always be noticed? Do you love to be seen, heard, and sought after? Do you derive your sense of importance, value, and honour from being the centre of attraction? It’s a sign that the old man is still having a feild day in your life!

The flesh glories in the recognition, acknowledgement,
and accolade of men. (1 John 2:16) It seeks worship for itself. It does not submit to God, and so cannot please Him. Choose to deny your flesh today and be led by the Holy Spirit. Receive grace!
