John 4:38 | NKJV “I sent you to reap that for which you have not laboured; others have laboured, and you have entered into their labours.”
I once counseled someone who had a hard time receiving things that came to him freely and easily. He was always plagued with guilt because he didn’t work for it. He was rather more comfortable embracing things and opportunities where he had exerted effort in.
Now, this is what the Holy Spirit wants to address for us today, blissfuls. He gives us a sneak peak into God’s will for us, when Jesus fed the five thousand. The disciples suggested that the tired and famished crowd go to fend for themselves. Jesus, on the contrary, demanded that they provide food for the people.
God has brought us into the realm of favour, rest, and miracles. Labour, stress, and suffering, is not His will for you. It is a fall out of the curse laid on man after his fall. Just like no machine can function well without oil, likewise, no one can live blissfully, without being powered by the favour and grace of God. May you receive it afresh today. May you choose favour over labour!
