A lot of Christian folks actually give tithes because they want to be blessed. They see tithing to God as a means of obtaining His blessings and favour. Churches today are filled with gold diggers who are not sincerely devoted to God.
In Pentecostal circles, a lot of charlatans peddle the materialism, a.k.a, ‘prosperity’, message. They use the bible to rob folks who come to church. They preach that tithing to God is a means to financial gain. However, people actually get what they deserve. If you’re a gold digger and you come to church because you want the blessings of God, satan will put a charlatan on the pulpit to deceive you.
The reason why there is an escalation of charlatans in the pulpit is because there is also an escalation of charlatans in the pew. The thousands who troop into the church today are also charlatans. They are crooks, a bunch of greedy, selfish people, who see God as a means to get quick money.
Apostle Paul in writing to Timothy spoke about such folks:
“…men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.”
~1Timothy 6:5
Tithing to God shouldn’t be practiced as a means of getting God’s blessings. As a matter of fact, you give tithe to God because you are already blessed. Your tithe comes from what God has already given you. It comes from what you already have. If you don’t have, you don’t give a tithe. You shouldn’t give a tithe if you don’t have. So there is no point walking in deceit.
Tithing to God is not a means of getting the blessings of God. Tithing is an avenue to express your allegiance to God; so make sure you tithe for the right reasons.
Memory Verse:
1Timothy 6:5
“…men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.”Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I choose today to express my allegiance to you through my tithes to You. Father preserve my heart from wrong doctrines, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
