Celebration Of Love, Warri (Day Three)

We concluded the Celebration of Love, Warri with the Lord’s Table.

During the service, I addressed the disease of selfishness—the opposite and enemy of love.

Selfishness is the number one enemy facing all relationships—including marriages, families and even nations.

Selfishness is putting your personal interest ahead of the common good. It means looking at life only in terms of how it benefits you. It means using others to achieve your ends.

And it is the mother of all evils: corruption, divorce, hurts and so on.

Only the Holy Spirit Himself can root out the disease of selfishness from our hearts. But He needs yielded human vessels —men and women of resolve; willing to put the interests of others ahead of theirs; willing to lay down their lives for others.

Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
[3] Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, [4] not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

My prayer and hope is that this is where Blissful People come in.

I’m not naive. I don’t think it will be easy.

But I’ve made up my mind personally to walk this path of selfless love that gives all and expects nothing from anyone.
