Psalm 63:8 KJV
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Followeth hard after thee: This means he was following the Holy Spirit bumper to bumper; not giving any gap; not looking right or left.
It’s never easy to do this. Life is full of pressures: People and their dramas; bills to pay; deadlines to meet; all sorts of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. Plus Satan manipulates all these daily troubles to distract us from the Holy Spirit.
You can’t control what life throws at you each day to test you. You can’t even control what you desire.
However, you can control two things:
- Your conscious choices, and
- Your relentless prayers.
And you should put these two powers to work in your favour.
First, consciously choose to follow hard after the Holy Spirit.
Then relentlessly ask the Holy Spirit to help you do this.
May the Lord Himself help you to focus on Him today. May He help you to follow Him wholeheartedly today. And may He protect and strengthen you against all distractions today. In Jesus name.
