1 John 1:1 NIV | “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.”
There’s more to our walk with God. It’s beyond bible chapters and verses. It’s our personal experiences in Him that make and build us. Any experience you’ve not yet owned is not yours, and won’t be of much use to you. This explains why Paul told the Corinthian church that his message and preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.
John, in today’s scripture, also writes about the tangibility of the experiences they witnessed and experienced in Christ. It was not hearsay. It was not rules taught by men. Let’s go beyond religion. Let’s go beyond tradition handed down to us. Let’s go beyond bible verses and chapters. Let’s believe God for the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Let’s seek for the reality of Christ.
May your determined purpose be to intimately know Christ, and experience His mighty power. This begins with the death of other purposes and pleasures in your life. Receive grace!
