Mathew 12:31 NIV | “And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.”
Jesus did something extraordinary in the preceeding verses. He had just healed a demon possessed man who was both blind and mute, but his enemies – the Pharisees – attributed the miracle to demons. They blasphemed against the Holy Spirit.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is whenever we discredit the work of God; knowingly or unknowingly, and attribute it to something else. One of the key revelations we learnt from the Holy Spirit here that should guide us, is that everything came from God. He is behind everything. He uses everything.
So, each time we judge and label our experiences as bad, we’re actually blaspheming. Trust God to bring you to a higher degree of awareness, where like Job, you see Him in everything. That way, you’ll trust God, submit to Him, and bliss will be with you!
