Beware Of Attachments (1): Make Room For God’s Will

Mark 10:21 NIV | “Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Our walk with God is like a journey and a race. Attachment is anything in our lives that hinders our rate of response to God, and makes it difficult for us to surrender to His will. It varies with people. For the rich young ruler, it happened to be his wealth.

Jesus’ message to the rich young ruler, and to every of His prospective follower today, is this: “If I do not have all of you, you will have none of me.” It’s all or nothing!

I pray for you today, blissful. Receive the grace to cling to the Lord so that your grip on the world be loosened. Be fired up to love Christ unreservedly, and to give up all, in order to have Him as your highest treasure (Matt. 13:44–46).
