This is a word for the wise and wisdom is too high for a fool. I believe if you are reading this, God has counted you among the wise. The Bible tells us that bad company corrupts good morals.
1 Corinthians 15:33| “Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.””
A man once told me “you can’t soar with the eagles if you fly with the buzzards.”
I have found this to be true, you will become like the company you keep. You should guard your space diligently. Choose to be around those who celebrate you and make you want to be a better version of yourself.
James 4:4| “You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.”
A friend of the world is an enemy of God.
The reason is simple, they have complete opposite values, principles and priorities; they do not agree.
Therefore, watch the people you call friends; do they have the same morals as you? Are they going in the same direction as you? Two can’t walk together unless they agree.
Single people, if you are a child of God then you need to be very cautious with who you date. Who you decide to marry is one of the most critical decisions you will make in your life. So be very prayerful and wise in that choice or you will regret it.
On your job do not engage in distasteful conversation with other employees. Avoid drama, gossip and such.
Even within the family dynamic, it’s not everything that you have to respond to, silence is a response. Do not engage in things that drag you into the flesh.
You can not always control who you are around but you can decide who and what you will fellowship with. Being mindful of who you listen to and entertain. These things effect your mind and spirit more than you are aware.
It’s time to take inventory of the company you are keeping. Who have you been spending time with? Who have you been listening to? Are they going in the same direction? Do you share the same values?
Prayer| Holy Spirit help me be wise in my choice of company. Give me the strength to disconnect from those who are toxic to my destiny. Help me to not waste time with those who will only bring me down. Give me the courage to be who you created me to be. In Jesus Name, amen.
