“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
~Romans 12: 12
The bible tells us to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer during the tough seasons of life. If you are not faithful in prayer, you cannot be joyful in hope. If you are not faithful in prayer, you cannot be patient in affliction. Consequently, the key to successfully withstanding the seasons of adversity is faithfulness in prayer. Which is why in today’s post, I urge you to pray, and continue to pray.
Many children of God have abandoned their God-given projects due to challenges encountered while working on those projects. When God gives you a dream, He also gives you a tough life, because it takes toughness to achieve greatness. God gives you tough assignments and difficult tasks, because it is through tough challenges that God can draw out His potentials within you.
God’s wisdom, strength, abilities reside in you; but they don’t come out in a place of convenience. They don’t come out in a place of comfort; they don’t come out when everything is easy. It is through the squeezes of life that your potentials come out; it is through the afflictions of your circumstances that the depth of God’s wisdom is released for you. For this reason, do not faint; do not abandon your project.
Understand: people don’t abandon their assignments because of the difficulties encountered, or the toughness involved. The real reason people abandon their assignments, projects, dreams, and faith, is because of prayerlessness. The strength within us is God. And prayerlessness results in failure to draw from this strength in trying times. If you ignore the strength within, then defeat is inevitable.
Be faithful in prayer, and you will successfully ride the storms of adversity, and get to your desired destination.
