If you are a young single man or woman, I can imagine that you’re under tremendous pressure to get married; pressure from within, pressure from family and friends, pressure from the pulpit and social media.
Marriage is a very important pillar of human society. It was designed to provide a conducive environment to develop God’s children into the image of His Son.
But it’s not for everyone. Not everyone should get married. And even those it’s meant for should not get into it without adequate preparation. Otherwise our societies will continue to be littered with miserable marriages, frustrated couples, broken homes and damaged people.
The real issue is you. Have you accepted yourself and made peace with who you are? Are you comfortable within your own skin? Are you happy all by yourself with who you are?
Because if you are searching for happiness and completeness in another person, all in the name of marriage, you’re a disaster waiting to happen.
The pressure from inside and outside to get married is very strong. But you should not succumb to it.
Please, stop all this desperate search for Mr. or Mrs. Right.
Focus instead on your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Become more intimate with Him. Give your whole life to Him. Let Him teach you His voice. Let Him take you by the hand and lead you to a life of true success and happiness.
