Are You Ready for the End?

a cemetery

You most likely do not like to think about the end of your life here on earth; the thought can be both saddening and scary. Like most people, you may prefer to avoid the subject entirely. However, like the subject or not, one day your journey here will come to an end and you will face your Maker. So, rather than fear or avoid the subject, take pains to prepare for the inevitable. Death should never terrify you; embrace it and make it a daily inspiration to live a God-centered life .

Are you ready?

Your life belongs to God and you must give account for it soon

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account."
~Hebrews 4:13

Think on this for a few moments: One day, you will stand before God to give account of yourself – what you did with the life He gave you. And that day is sooner than you think. If you must give account of your life to God, it means that your life is not yours; your life is not a free gift for you to spend as you wish; it is an assignment, a duty, a responsibility. Your life belongs to God, and you must give account to Him at the end.

So, are you ready for the end?

Have you made peace with your Maker?
Have you received the gift of eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ?
Are you living your life daily for His pleasure and glory?

Could you by any chance have succumbed to the deception of Satan, thinking that you have a lot of time, that Jesus coming is still far away? And could you as a result be living your life pursuing the chaffs of this world, living for your own pleasures and wallowing in sin, selfishness, and greed?

God sent me via this post to warn you: Repent, as you may not have much time left.

Being religious is good, but it’s not enough

"At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment. He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly."
~
Acts 10:1-2

Cornelius was religious, God-fearing, generous, and prayerful, yet he was not saved. Do not be deceived; neither attending church regularly, giving, praying and fasting, nor working in the church will save you from sin and eternal death. Instead, follow the 4 steps below to make peace with God and receive the free gift of eternal life in His Son Jesus Christ:

    1. Repent of your sins and ask for forgiveness from God.
    2. Open your heart and receive Jesus Christ; not as a prophet or good man, but as God Himself, as your Master, and as your personal Saviour.
    3. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for your deliverance from sin, that He rose again on the third day, and that He now sits enthroned in heaven at the right hand of Almighty God from where He will return to judge both the living and the dead.
    4. Then you must be baptized in water in His name for the remission of your sins, after which you must surrender your life completely to His authority.

Unless you do these things, you will perish. And from what the Holy Spirit is saying right now, time is running out very fast. Prepare to meet your God, and save yourself from this corrupt generation by receiving the grace of Jesus Christ this very moment.

But claiming to be born-again is also not enough

You must devote the rest of your days here to a life of holiness and purity, knowing that you will soon appear before God to give account of yourself.

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy". Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear."
~1 Peter 1:15-17

Judgment day is coming, and it’s coming soon. Therefore, turn your back to sin and the pleasures of this world. Strive to live each remaining day of your life in obedience to God’s word, doing only those things that please Him, and looking forward to giving an account of yourself before Him very soon.

I think you should know – if you are a regular reader of this blog, or you just stumbled across it today – that I’ll be praying daily for you this week that you will not perish in the second death, but will inherit eternal life and spend eternity in God’s paradise.

I love you, and may God bless you.
